On Wednesday, the Oshiwara police raided the plush Meera Cooperative Housing Society and seized more than one lakh pornographic CDs and DVDs. The flat is owned by IAS officer and current general manager of a Bombay Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking, Om Prakash Gupta and currently it is rented by a small time actress and item girl Misti Mukherjee’s brother and retired engineer father. Actress Misti Mukherjee’s 30-year old arrested brother, Samarth Mukherjee has claimed he used to collect porn CDs for fun and not for selling.

Living in a rented flat owned by Omprakash Gupta, an IAS officer, Samarth has claimed he was impotent and cited his impotency as the reason behind the wide collection of porn CDs at his flat.

Samarth and Chandrakant Mukherjee were arrested for running porn CD business operated from their Meera Tower apartment. Both the accused have been remanded into police custody after being presented in the court. The police had earlier also seized a laptop and hard disk from the apartment to check the contents. The police have claimed to have found over 100 porn films in the hard disk.
Police alleged that this pornography business had earned the Mujherjees quick bucks which made it possible for them to rent a flat in the posh locality of Mumbai. The rent of the flat in which the Mukherjees stayed is estimated to be Rs. 80,000 per month.

On January 9, police raided the flat and found porn CDs spilled all over the floor. Chandrakant and Samarth Mujherjee were arrested while Misti and her mother were interrogated.

According to sources, at the time of the raid, a male model was also found in the flat.

Biography : The gorgeous filmy family girl Alia Bhatt is born in the famous Bhatt family of Bollywood. The girl though too early to start her career as a lead actress has struck a chord at both Abhinav Kashyap and Karan Johar’s heart with the innocent spark in her face and dusky eyes.
Just like new stars Diana Penty, Deepika Padukone, Genelia have rocked the Bollywood floor, the girl from this filmi family with her filmi roots could also create the same euphoria. She comes from such a family where every other person is somewhere associated with the Bollywood filmdom.

The girl already touched the world with her debut movie SANGHARSH (1999) as a child artist which had Akshay Kumar and Priety Zinta as leads. Just as it is said that big things come in small packages, the child artist could wait no longer and has decided to start her career at a tender age of just 17. That also reminds us of our Bengali beauty Rani Mukherjee who also started her career at 17.

The powerhouse of talent that she imbibes in her genes, she is rumoured to have bagged her first offer from Abhinav Kashyap to play the lead opposite the Rockstar Kapoor in the film apparently titled BESHARAM. There is a buzz that Parineeti Chopra was being offered the role before. But fortunately, destiny had other plans waiting for her as Karan Johar decided to launch the Bhatt starlet for his long anticipated release Student of The Year opposite Varun Dhawan, son of David Dhawan. The film is co-produced by Bolywood’s Badshah Shah rukh Khan. It is under the banner of Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment. The film is said to be a romantic comedy and expected to be released on 19th October this year. The young girl promises a lot to the film industry with her talent.

The Punjabi girl, sister to Saheen, Rahul, and Pooja Bhatt has hobbies like listening to music and partying. The dusk eyed brown-haired beauty is very much determined to leave mark on a positive mark in the B-town

Thus though approached by a lot of directors and producers, she is patient and choosy about taking new work. She is focused and determined to climb to the pinnacle of success in due course of time, with the help of her patience, talent and beauty

To reduce the drudgery from the lives of workers who roll 3,000 incense sticks a day with bare hands to earn as little as Rs. 20 per 1,000 sticks, an IIT Gandhinagar graduate is developing a low cost machine.Keshav G, a student from the maiden batch of IITGN who graduated this year, started developing the machine as a classroom project a year ago.

When Keshav came face to face with slum dwellers in Bangalore making bundles of sticks for a pittance, he took up a project to design a low cost machine that would produce incense sticks at a faster rate to generate more income.
Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati (2 December 1960 – 23 September 1996), known popularly as Silk Smitha, was an Indian film artiste who worked predominantly in the South Indian languages. She entered the film industry as an extra actress, and first got noticed for her role as "Silk" in the 1979 Tamil film Vandichakkaram. She became a sought-after 'erotic actress' in the 1980s and in a career spanning 17 years, she appeared in over 450 films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. On September 23, 1996, she was found dead in her apartment in Chennai, apparently having committed suicide..
Early life

Vadlapati was born in a poor family in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. She left school after her fourth standard (in India, at about 8 years of age) due to the family's financial constraints. Her striking looks burdened her with uninvited attention, and her family married her off at a very young age. When she was ill-treated by her husband and in-laws, she ran away to Madras (now known as Chennai) and started living with an aunt.
Career as a Artist

Vijayalakshmi started as a touch-up artist for a B-grade actress, and soon got a break in small character roles.[2] Later she was discovered by Tamil director Vinu Chakravarthy at a flour mill. He renamed her Smitha, and took her under his wing: his wife taught her English, and arranged for her to learn dancing from another teacher.[4] Smitha made her debut in the Malayalam film Inaye Thedi in 1979,[5] though soon, due to her marked sex appeal, she switched to roles of cabaret dancers and vamps and inevitably found herself type casted.[2] After garnering much notice and acclaim with her first major role in the Tamil film Vandichakkaram, in 1979, Smitha assumed the screen name "Silk", after her character's name in the movie.[6][7] However after it became a big hit, she could not escape typecasting, severely limiting her range throughout her career.[2]

Silk Smitha went on to star in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and a few Hindi films. Her dance numbers, semi-nude scenes and bold performances in films like Moondru Mugam made her the ultimate symbol of sensuality in South Indian cinema. Her item numbers in films like Amaran, HallimeshtruKannada were also celebrated at the box office. Some film critics, historians and journalists have referred to her as a "soft porn" actress.[8] A vast majority of her movies are considered 'softcore' by Indian standards and a common theme is her playing a freakishly strong agent in skimpy bikinis beating up huge thugs. Her acting prowess did not go completely unnoticed and in her rare non-sexual roles, she impressed critics and audiences, such as her portrayal of a wife hurt by her husband's infidelity in Alaigal Oivathillai (1981).[2] One of her films, Layanam (1989), has earned a cult status in the Indian adult film industry, and was dubbed in numerous languages including, Hindi as Reshma Ki Jawani (2002), which too acquired cult status.[2][9] Her most respected film is Moondram Pirai by Balu Mahendra, remade in Hindi as Sadma, with much of the top-drawer cast, including Sridevi, Kamal Hassan, and Silk Smitha reprising their roles.[10]

Such was her audience-drawing power that, at the peak of her career, according to Tamil film historian,Randor Guy, "Films that had lain in cans for years were sold by the simple addition of a Silk Smitha song.”.
In 1996, Smitha was found dead in her Chennai apartment. In the prior year she had been trying to move her career to become a film producer. Financial problems, a disillusionment in love and an alcohol dependency apparently led to depression. It is suspected that Smitha committed suicide by poisoning herself.
