Career

Nia made her television début as Anu, the best friend of the protagonist Rachana (Swati Kapoor) in Kaali. After the death of Rachana her character took over as the lead of the show, to defeat the main antagonist, and killer of Rachana, Thakral (Ashutosh Rana).^[4] Her next television appearance was as Nisha, the daughter of Jay (Akshay Anand), in Star Plus's Behenein.

After Behenein, Nia went on to portray Maanvi, one of the protagonists in the Cinevistaas production Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai,^[6] who suffers from leukaemia.^[7] She plays a childlike young adult, causing problems for her older sister Jeevika (Krystal D'Souza) to fix.^[8] For this role she required training from an audiologist in order to complete a sequence in the show where Maanvi helps Inder (Anupam Bhattacharya) correct his stammer.
