On Wednesday, the Oshiwara police raided the plush Meera Cooperative Housing Society and seized more than one lakh pornographic CDs and DVDs. The flat is owned by IAS officer and current general manager of a Bombay Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking, Om Prakash Gupta and currently it is rented by a small time actress and item girl Misti Mukherjee’s brother and retired engineer father. Misti's father and brother was questioned for supplying pornographic material.
Actress Misti Mukherjee’s 30-year old arrested brother, Samarth Mukherjee has claimed he used to collect porn CDs for fun and not for selling.

Living in a rented flat owned by Omprakash Gupta, an IAS officer, Samarth has claimed he was impotent and cited his impotency as the reason behind the wide collection of porn CDs at his flat.

Samarth and Chandrakant Mukherjee were arrested for running porn CD business operated from their Meera Tower apartment. Both the accused have been remanded into police custody after being presented in the court. The police had earlier also seized a laptop and hard disk from the apartment to check the contents. The police have claimed to have found over 100 porn films in the hard disk.

The investigations are on in this case.

According to police, Misti Mukherjee’s father and brother entered the business of pornography to earn easy money. The Mukherjee family was going through a financial crunch.

Samarth Mukherjee was jobless and Misti was unsuccessful in making a name in Tollywood.

Police alleged that this pornography business had earned the Mujherjees quick bucks which made it possible for them to rent a flat in the posh locality of Mumbai. The rent of the flat in which the Mukherjees stayed is estimated to be Rs. 80,000 per month.

On January 9, police raided the flat and found porn CDs spilled all over the floor. Chandrakant and Samarth Mujherjee were arrested while Misti and her mother were interrogated.

According to sources, at the time of the raid, a male model was also found in the flat.
