Do you know Irena Sendler?

During World War 2 this amazing lady saved the lives of 2500 Polish Jewish children from the Warsaw Jewish Ghetto by getting them Christian identities and placing them with non-Jewish families. She had to convince the childrens' parents to hand their children to her as she knew they were destined for sudden death. Irena was eventually caputured by the Nazis but escaped execution. She was inspired by her father who told her "People make choices to be either good or bad. Their race, religion, and nationality don't matter". Another example of the unstoppable power of the human spirit.
