Identity of mystery woman at march past revealed
The mystery woman who gatecrashed team India`s Opening Ceremony at the London Olympics has been identified. As per the reports she is Madhura Nagendra, a postgraduate student, hailing from Bangalore.
It has also been reported that the woman had uploaded the photographs of her Olympic passes on Facebook and had deactivated her account after her presence stirred a controversy.
A young lady in red shirt and blue trouser was seen leading the Indian contingent in the march past alongside Beijing Games bronze-medal winner Sushil Kumar and her presence had created a lot of buzz as nobody had a clue as to who she was.
The delegation is reportedly seeking an apology from the London organisers.
Acting chef de mission PKM Raja was quoted as saying that the incident had "embarrassed us in front of the world".
Photographs show a woman in red and blue walking close to flag-bearing wrestler Sushil Kumar on Friday night, in complete contrast to female members of the contingent who were wearing yellow sarees and blue blazers.
"She had no business being there. It was a clear case of intrusion," Raja was quoted as saying. "We are taking up the issue with the organisers.
"We don't know who she is and why she was allowed to walk in. The march past is for the athletes and officials attached to the contingent," Raja said.
"We are totally surprised by the manner in which she joined the delegation and kept walking inside the stadium."
"This was bizarre. We will ask for an apology," added Raja. "The Indian contingent was shown for just 10 seconds and to think this lady hogged all the limelight."
Looks the first gold medal for her exemplary contribution to British and Indian media, must be given to her by Olympics Committee for all the efforts, she has put in to be a part of Indian contingent. in Olympics, not only, this she can be nominated as our Sports Minister!
ReplyDeleteShe was dressed in much brighter and attractive colors , than the rest of the indian group , and probably gave the 10 secs , a higher worth , given the attention this has got . And quodos to her , she has managed to remain silent , letting the media do all the talking . This is soft skill at its best .
