Marzi Pestonji [Biography] Master Marzi of DID
Marzi Pestonji (Master Marzi) is an Indian dancer and choreographer. He is best known for judging Zee TV’s reality dance show Dance India Dance (DID) along with Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis .
Marzi started dance as hobby from 1993 when he was a student. He joined Shiamak Davar’s training courses. Later he became Shaimak’s assistant. For last 19 years Marzi is associated with Shaimak. He is the director of operations, principal dancer and senior faculty in Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts (SDIPA).
Marzi is married to Kashmira who herself is a trained dancer and associated with SDIPA.
Marzi started assisting Shiamak from ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. That movie was a blockbuster dance hit. Since then Marzi has done several assignments. He has done Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and there are loads of shows like IIFA. Devdas movie’s Dola Re song was also choreographed by Shiamak and Marzi. Marzi has worked with almost all film actors and actress.
DID team approached Shiamak for being judge in DID. But he had some date problems so he proposed Marzi’s name. Marzi was the senior most student and faculty member and from here his journey begain.
